Lieutenant Stanley Patton (Staff Sargeant Adrian Humbolt)

Lieutenant Patton (Patton's Platoon) is the squad leader of the AI defense forse of Nova. after he fails, however, he is downgraded to a simple BI private by the name of Adrian Humbolt, but becomes a Sargeant after his excellence in boot camp. at first, he is shocked, threatened with purification should he quit, but at the end of the book he is satisfied with his new self, going from an ego-tystical Lieutenant that orders his men around to realizing just how brave the men around him are, and how much braver they are than he is. He is extremely skilled in combat (AI training) and extremely tough (Hammerburst operations). Hammerburst operations are where a person is put into a shaking chamber that breaks every single bone in your body in certain places so that when they regenerate, they are stronger. The speed of growth is enhanced, and the proccess repeated until the trooper has nearly indestructible bones. of course, this is only to the AI, and its extremely, immesly painful too, but again, that's part of the job.
